Sober Skipper

The US Coast Guard has reported that Boating Under the Influence is a major problem on our nation’s waterways, yet it is 100% preventable.

The Sober Skipper Program strives to eliminate BUI injuries and fatalities by encouraging boaters to “Take the Pledge” to be or to designate a Sober Skipper before leaving the dock or boat ramp. In return, the boater receives a yellow Sober Skipper wristband to serve as a reminder of their commitment to safe and sober boating.

If your business is interested in sponsoring a life jacket loaner station featuring your company’s logo on life jackets or is interested in receiving a set of 100 Sober Skipper wristbands and floating keychains, please contact Gail Kulp, Executive Director of the Sea Tow Foundation, at gkulp@seatow.com.
