Retailer Targeted Outreach
Our Retailer Targeted Outreach campaign compliments other boating safety campaigns by encouraging retailers and other industry professionals to share safety information every time they interact with customers. For more than a decade the Water Sports Foundation has collaborated with the U.S. Coast Guard Office of Boating Safety to use media as a conduit for sharing messages about safer boating with the public. This campaign utilizes the special connection that boating’s trade media has with boating and paddling industry members to encourage them to spread boating safety messages. This “teach the teachers” approach is producing positive results, with surveys showing boating industry professionals have an increased awareness of safer boating practices today than they did just a few years ago.
