About the WSF New Media Project
The Water Sports Foundation’s New Media Outreach for Boating Safety project is an integrated boating safety campaign based on the ability of so-called new media to engage audiences, foster conversations and influence group culture. The project uses a three-pronged approach, in which true stories create a sense of authenticity and emotional connection, boating influencers exert positive peer pressure, and advertising provides presence – the sense that everyone is talking about boating safety. Finally, social media amplifies and facilitates audience participation.
